Naw not overgrown just never got growed up in the first place- Hence the saying "boys/men and their toys". Like my shop full of big boy toys.

Never had legos when I was a young lad. We did have some bricks and tinker toys and erector sets. They eventually went to making those bricks out of plastic and never as good as the wood ones. Not sure if they still make tinker toys or not. Erector set prices went super high last I knew.

Tinker toys was something I enjoyed. The first time I had ever seen them was when I was moved into a ward in the hospital when I had polio. I do remember crying because I could not get out of bed to play as there were several boys building big things and having lots of fun. I also remember wondering why they could get out of bed and why they could walk. It seemed there was nothing wrong with them. Actually a sad memory but I finally got some tinker toys the next Christmas. I was happy.

That is a sad story Backwoods Savage but at least it all worked out in the end and you got your tinker toys!

My kiddo has the Lego Haul Truck set shown in the video above. Of course, he has most Lego sets. Be careful getting them started... it doesn't ever ever end!

Of course, I get to play with them too sometimes... see my user pic at left! :)

Yeah my oldest son is 26 and we still give him a Lego set for his birthday every year. We also give him one for Christmas, too. Helps that his birthday is on Christmas Day.

Lincoln logs - yes!!! And not the plastic ones. We'd build log cabins, break them down, and rebuild. Good stuff!

We also had them, but the dog, well, he did what dog do, so it wasn't long before we didn't have enough logs to build anything.

Ah yes, Lincoln Logs, Erector sets( motorized) no plastic parts , Huge Chemical Set (boy I could make some nasty smelling stuff with that- quite useful:whistle:) had some sort of set with plastic girders and beams, panels. Somewhere between 10 and 12 years of age I built my first flying plane model from scratch (control line type)
