I don't think they make a stool short enough for that one. Maybe you could elevate it.

Totally agree... orrrrr... add a log catcher on the side closest to "us" and a ramp on side, extend the lever handle and work less often on yer knees.

Interesting little fella. Maybe hoist up on a tailgate or just make a platform for it.

I thought it was. Looking online, it's about 5-6 hundred everywhere else.

I like the idea of a longer handle, and elevating it a little. Might have to look into that. Right now, I'm still in thankfulness mode of not having to chop everything by hand anymore!

I bet it would be pretty easy to make up a mount that slides into the receiver.

I'd grab a pair of knee pads from the local home store. I bet they would make splitting easier.

Thanks, man! The stove is sitting in what used to be our 2.5 car garage. We had it done about 1.5 years ago. Door was on the back of the house, so it made for an easier job. We had the luxury of adding the stove as "new construction" instead of retro-fitting, which I think helped a lot. Got lots of awesome advice from the nice folks here who patiently answered my "newb" questions, and was such a cool place decided to stick around. That would be nice. Or even one that attaches to the riding mower to tow it back to the wood pile.

I was thinking of a mount that would extend under the tailgate and place it at the right working height to split out of the truck.

Thanks! Some of the best money we ever spent. We're having a way better time in there than our one car and lots of junk were!

My father in law rolls his splitter up onto a couple of car ramps to get it to a good working height and he made an extension for the kick stand. I think his was higher off the ground to start with though. My uncle had one like that on an old boat trailer to get it higher but for me (6'-2") it was still kind of low.

You could Get one of these or something similar, welded on, (possibly bolt it on) for towing with a riding mower
