Mushrooms can be tough, even small differences between the gills or the stipe or even slight differences in color can be a make or break on the poison factor. I'd do some research before you go and sautee up your last day alive.
i am going to try to make an effort to find morels on my property this year. never been mushroom hunting but last year i had at least a dozen different types of mushrooms growing. half of my property is predominatly oaks and the other half tulip poplar. lots of deadfall. idk if soil is correct type for morels tho. got a guy at work who can double check what i find. anybody in the PA/NJ area find any yet?
We like them, but it alway get them from the market because I am not well versed in what is ok and what is not. I might try growing them some day. Those who do find it rewarding.
I found 6 grays yesterday. Supposed to be relatively warm and rainy here this week so the yellows might be up by the weekend.
None here yet, should be in a week or so. A cousin found a 2 1/2 gallon plastic Schwans bucket full last weekend. But he's about 3 hours to my southwest.
We are getting the rain now, it the temp comes up at the end of the week we will be having them pop up all over the place.
