    Welcome to the club.
I have only a small amount of mulberry in my stacks. Never burned it. I'll let you know 3 years from now.

By the way, be careful hanging around here to much, your going to end up with way more saws than you need!

I think I'm offended, you left out trucks, tractors, trailers, skidders, chains, chokers, & a whole bunch of stuff I can't even think of right now.

Thanks for the lead on the CL post Dakota Hoarder ! I reached out to him and haven't heard back yet. Hopefully the wood is still available but it looks like the post is a bit old so it might be gone. He's only about 10 miles from me so that would be a pretty sweet score if it's still available!

One of my beefs about CL/FBM is when someone never responds even after two or more messages and the listing stays up. I prefer the ones who give a phone number as about half the ones i email get back to me. I seldom browse them for free wood anymore unless a FHC member sends me a lead in my area.

I never leave a phone# when I post 4sale (anywhere). Your phone will get lit up with other stuff as well, which ends up pizzing a feller off (speaking from experience:mad:). Maybe its a geographical thing?

It does and i have the same issue. I posted a cord of wood for sale the other night on CL and the scammers soon started texting. I give it right back to them. Tell them sold and they stop. Seldom do they call.

Mulberry is one of the woods I want to try, but seldom ever see available. I heard it pops like crazy.

Yes! It would be perfect for an open fireplace.

Well Dakota Hoarder , the guy from the CL post finally responded and said the wood was gone. I wish people would remove their old posts. Thanks for the tip on checking CL though. I'll keep looking and hopefully I can find some other seasoned wood I can burn this winter. Going to cut down a couple standing dead elms this afternoon which ought to get me a bit less than a cord, so that's a start.

A lotta times you start getting replies and you never know if the person will show up, so I let the add up till whatever I'm selling is actually gone. Frequently there's a lag time in there. Don't let it discourage you too much as there is a ton of wood to be had this way.

I’ve also put my own add up on CL for fire wood wanted. Worked out pretty good made a couple connections and still cut at one spot occasionally. I’d guess in your area being pretty rural there’d be plenty of people looking for people to cut down trees. And with EAB starting there will be plenty of Ash that will need to come down in the near future. A lot of the shelter belts around have some ash in them.
