Saw a bunch of what I did not know was Mulberry at the dump a few weeks ago and took one short round to make into kindling. Wow I did not know Mulberry is so nice and dense. Makes real nice kindling although not as easy as black locust or spruce/pine.....But I may have to go back there and pick up some more short rounds for kindling.

I threw out my damm back on Sunday picking up of all things a tiny bit of broken glass on a friend's driveway. Literally like 4 crumbs. Bent down and then boom there it went. Crazy pain all day sunday. I even went to one of those IV spas to get a drip of their "inflammation" package along with 30mg of Toradol.

Felt better that night (Tuesday). You should have seen me on Monday - I was hobbling literally 1" at a time as if I were 150 years old.

Made the kindling just now so feeling good but not good enough to lug mulberry into the truck.

Now there's 5 pictures that have never been on the same page at FHC before!
Feel better man...I can relate, bent over to move a water hose about 3 weeks back and I'm just now almost over it...98-99% now.
And yes, Mulberry is nice stuff...cool color too! Just have to watch burning it in an open fireplace as it like to pop and throw "sparklers" all over...

Mulberry is good stuff! I am able to get a little bit here and there. I always take whatever I can get my hands on.

Sorry about your back, buddy. Back issues are the worst! I’ve never heard of that type of therapy. So that’s not a doctor’s office or ER?

It spits a lot like popcorn in the fire. I did a mulberry clean up job last December. Dead blow down and the homeowner kept all the limb wood for his firepit. I just did another job for them and he still has the mound by the garage. I was tempted to ask for them. It splits like cake. Id love to score more of it as a rare tree here. My understanding its very rot resistant too.

Take care of the back. No picking up glass. Heavy logs okay, but no glass.

Lol excuse me, I’d like the take a nap for 12hrs and wake up with a smile package.

The worst I ever blew out my back happened while putting on my underwear.

Hope yours heals quickly. Anti inflammatory and muscle relaxers worked good for me last time.

Sorry to hear about the back...that's no fun! At least it loosened up quickly for you. As for the mulberry, that's good wood. I would save it for cold days.

o_O What??? There's really such a thing? Is it a Dr's office of some kind, or is it in a dark alley??

Oh,man, I can't stand an IV stuck in me. It starts to itch like mad. Hand, arm, doesn't matter. If it is an overnighter I tell the nurse to put (extra) scratch proof tape on it or it will be out in the morning when I wake up. They don't go in easy, either.

Hey the last picture is original. :D

Can't wait to see the sparklers!

Yeah it's not a dr's office but there is an RN there and they get their stuff direct from the pharmaceutical company evidently. It costs $200 for the "inflammation" package and another $25 for the Toradol. I've had Toradol via IV at the hospital when I was delirious with fever for a week with pneumonia and know how fast and well it can work. And I was definitely feeling better by that evening and was able to walk almost normally today. Still some slight discomfort but I was hunched over and was inching along before I went.

Yeah last time I threw it out I was placing down a pail or something rather light and it just gave out! And meanwhile I'm lifting massive rounds no problem. Getting old sucks!

    Thanks!

Yes and they have a whole cocktail of offerings. You can see it here. Not affiliated in any way. This was my first time testing it out. And yeah while it wasn't cheap it was way cheaper than going to the ER for a shot.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Man with having cancer and kidney stones and high uric acid and low pH and who knows what else, I have an entire pharmacy at home now! But yeah the NSAIDs really can help but you gotta be careful and hydrate and not take Toradol, for exmaple, for more than 5 days straight. I only had the 30mg shot and have the 10mg pills on hand if necessary but haven't used them yet.

Ive learned that over the last couple years. Disc issues with my back. Wear the brace (i call it my girdle) and try to use proper lifting technique. I will section bigger rounds even though i can lift them as is.
I call getting hurt like that a dumm dumm wound. Happens to me sometimes too.
    Be well soon my friend!

I’ll have to look for something like that around here! I’m a paramedic and we give Toradol in the field for chronic pain and migraines and such. It’s great medicine.

I have a girdle too but I really didn't think I needed it to pick up a few tiny pieces of broken glass!!!

I saw first hand how hooked people can get on things like Fentanyl. My father almost lost his mind when he called me up at 1:30am one night because he was out of Fentanyl patches and was shaking just thinking about the "pain" he'd be in in the morning. I told him to suck it up because the pharmacy that he filled it at was closed and in NYS you can only fill your controlled substances at the original pharmacy unless you procure a new script.

You give Toradol IV or IM or both? And thank you for your service! Takes a special kind of person to do what you do.

Here are a few links I found when searching for "iv drip therapy toradol pine colorado"

Thank you for those links! I’ll defiantly try that next time I Jack my back up! Fentanyl is amazing and awful. We give fentanyl for serious trauma. It does an amazing job mitigating pain, but it’s more addictive than heroine. We give Toradol IV, so it works quickly and is very effective.

Man I tell you I thought I was going to die when I didn't sleep for a week with fever and pneumonia...... and I kept drinking water and trying to sleep but couldn't.....and the second I got the toradol IV I closed my eyes for 5 minutes and it felt like absolute heaven to finally be able to sleep. Let me know how it goes - although I hope you don't hurt your back and need it! Hahaha!

From now on you, along with many others will have to be super careful as it can happen in a flash. Something many of us just have to live with. It was 37 years ago this month when I injured my back and life has never been the same...
