Boy those are some buggers to get off there. I'll probably play with it in the morning. I got one partially off I can see the screw down there. So that's a positive. Thank you for the help guys.

There pretty easy to pull off? Take a screw driver and pull them partially out, kind of like it sounds you have done one the one. Then grab it with forceps or needle nose. The pull right out??

Amazing tool .................. that's what I ended up using too! Also I think you want the limiter turned all the way counter-clockwise so the tiny little plastic tab lines up with a slit, then pull out. Seem to recall that from memory, because turning the drywall screw in would turn the plastic limiter back clockwise...............

The actual tool to pull those is just a small machine thread screw end with a screwdriver handle. And left hand threads.;)

The 2 sets I pulled i did not have trouble with pliers? And I do not have a huge selection of tools. Better than most but not huge.

Take a closer look at this photo and decide if pliers are going to get it done.

I've pulled a few limiters myself ya know. ;)

Wrong! It took me two hours of heck to get the darn things out. I ended up using a small screw driver taking the top cover off the saw and tapping very gently until they started to jiggle a little. Then I took a screw and a drill then proceeded to put three screws in before they came out. No way they where coming out with needle nose pliers not gonna happen.

Maybe I was lucky? I tap them like pete. But I'm not lieing it took me all of 2 mins to pull them on the ms650.

I guess I was lucky. 3-4 yrs ago when I rebuilt the 390 Carb I pulled those out with a tiny screw driver prying them and grabbing I think. Was my first time so was not sure how to pull them. I may of spent 10 mins on them??

Y'all just disregard me and listen to the more experienced guys.

Maybe you were, or I just have a stubborn set. But keep posting, you've added some good input. And I still haven't started to tune it yet.

OK not sure where my text went but.....

Here I am posting how I did it. Not for a who's right thing but if it helps someone remove them in less than 2 hours, great!

This is the limited cap out of my 650 and the very set of pliers I used. Screwdrivers are pretty self explanatory so I'm not posting them.

Interesting looking cap though, with just that bump as the limiting factor. If I'm looking at it correctly.

Yes if u cut that small tab off and reinsert it you van get the full range of motion out of screw and I think it was mom said that it helps hold the setting and not vibrate out of adjustment.
    Edit:
Haha That was so funny I left it. Should be ..van equals can. Mom should be MM. Stupid autocorrect.
