I feel much better knowing that the saw will adjust. Done many muffler mods just never any with mtronic. Thanks for the pics.

I have probably over a hundred tanks of fuel through this saw since I've done the mod. Slug and jug still look brand new.

Mtronic searches several times per second for the highest rpm in the wood. Some models have a heat sensor built into the coil also.

It’s a pretty safe bet that doubling the oem exhaust outlet on most saws will yield a gain. My ported 661 has 3 screened deflectors with about a 3/4” square hole each.

Spark screens allow about 50% flow. But most saws have screens that are 2-3 times the outlet hole size to compensate for it

So I started with just a hole. I did it in the bridgeport so I could do it in a way that probably won't be noticeable if it goes in for warranty purposes. I will see how this goes and proceed as my confidence that it's not a lemon builds. It's only made 3 cuts so far. Thanks all !!

adding the 1/2" hole really seemed to help cool it down but it definitely increased its bark.
I showed the XS sticker to my lovely wife and said that i want to someday get one. Her reply was "you want the sticker get the sticker"............
