Muffler mod for the MS-250?

    Also check with your local saw shop; one that I go to always has saws that don't get pickup and they have sales the start of each year to clear space in the saw shop

    H2H, We have 1 stihl dealer here with in a 35 mile radius, and saws of anykind go fast! "ONCE in a blue moon" there is a flea market around here and you'll be lucky to see one there.

    I've found on these clamshells, the closer to straight in and straight out you can get, the more power they produce... And noise..;)
    Raising the comp on them is not an easy job... I have welded a large pop up on the 039, and only managed to raise the comp by 10 pounds...
    And for that, get added vibration... One would be better off to find a piston of same diameter but higher crown, and lathe a pop up, then lighten the piston as much as possible...
    Best gains would be transfer work and adjust port timing #'s.
    Then there's additional ports, but we'll save that for another thread...
