It's not my saw, so I don't have any glamour shots but here's a nice video comparison of the 462 and 572:
Been very happy with my 562xp I find myself grabbing it for most all of my wood cutting needs. While working on Eating the elephant I have come to the conclusion that a bigger saw /longer bar would be nice to have. Really would like to get my hands on the new 572xp.
That's where I'm at too...562xp is my primary firewood saw right now, but there's a lot of logs in my pile that could use a bigger saw/longer bar. I've considered a 572 too but I do prefer stihl and was very hopeful about this new 462c...not sure how much longer I'll wait though.
I'm not in a big hurry, so waiting is not an issue. I'm not brand loyal so as long as it does what it's supposed to I'm good. Watching a few videos the 462 seems to be lighter than the 572, that would make a difference to me though
So today I heard Husqvarna is releasing a 565, which is basically the same as a 572. Also auto tune, different air filter, more of a commercial grade than pro grade saw. Decisions, decisions.
I don't believe so. 565 should be only a couple ounces lighter than the 572. The 462 is1.5 to 2 lbs lighter. Can't remember the exact weight, but the 462 is quite light for 70 cc
I believe the weight is similar to an 036. Just didn't wanna throw it out there without being certain
I'm only a firewood cutter not sure the 1lb differences would be that big of a concern. I will say that I tend to grab my 562xp over my 261cm most of the time. With the 20" bar it just feels most comfortable to me. I really like the specs of the 462. Sized close to the 261 it should be a dream to handle.
Couldn't say what a 036 weighs for sure. I wanna say it was 13ish pounds or there abouts. I'm going off muscle memory. Never been a hard core specs sheet zealot. I've got a lot of trigger time on both the 036 and 6100. The 70cc 462 feels close to both of those 60cc saws. To me that's a break through as long as it holds up long term.
Anyone know when the Stihl is coming out? I am really thinking I will buy one. I really, really, really despise my Forever Crank (562XP), and will put it up for sale, or trade it in for the Stihl.
