Where is that guys bar wrench.
You Never do something like that without taking the powerhead off the bar and chain FIRST. !!

Not me...I would just push the tree off the saw with my skidder!

Cold Trigger Finger is right though, just carrying a spare bar and chain with you will get you out of any pinch. Take the powerhead off, put on the spare bar and chain, and cut the pinched bar out of the tree (by taking the pressure off it). Its not rocket science.

It's amazing how many people DON'T understand that. With in board clutches its so easy too.
I may leave my spare power head near the road. But I always have a spare bar with my fuel and oil. And a few Sharp chains in my tramp sack. .
I've never figured out why I didn't make a custom pack frame to hold my gas and oil, tramp sack, spare bar, ax, ect and a set up to put my saw on .

Now the reverse of all this is true too, and this is often what I should do, but do not...is when the saw is stuck and I am going to push the wood off the saw, I should remove the powerhead to save it from potential damage.

There is a saying in Maine that a person wants a large woman for a wife "for shade in the summer, and heat in the winter", but it seems to me maybe Alaskans just need them for constant heat!!

Getting a bar tip hung when limbing is the most common hangup. I always pack a rig builders ax with me . mainly to get free from that. And to tap in a wedge here or there.
But pulling the bar and chain off when a guy really gets hung up falling or bucking . saves Lots of money.

Sadly, it is about the same here. Not because she weighs 130 pounds, but because I weigh nearly twice that of her. Not quite, but almost!

I was talking to a guy at Madsen's last week , he told me they hadn't been released yet. Didn't give a definite date when they would be.

When your dealer gets that slack jawed confused look on their face have them call the distributor like I did. My dealer's rep said this fall:sherlock:
