Wazz up, MasterMech You figured out what's wrong with that saw yet.? Not trying to rush you just wondering
If his life is like mine, it's probably still sitting in a box in his garage. Not saying that's the case. BUT....if I had shipped it to me , it would still be in the box!
Maybe the PO lied? I have had them I know scan packages as delivered at the PO!!! Cause I looked and it said delivered yet it didn't show up till the next day !!
Mmm; well, I was just going by the day that MasterMech PM me that the saw had arrived. It was in the hand of my carrier on Saturday as I waited for the carrier instead of taking it to the PO.
It was Monday. But I got home after 10pm that night, Tues I meant to send Kimberly a msg saying I had received the saw but apparently I passed out before I got that far. And no Clem, It's not still in the box, I have monkeyed with it a bit. Unfortunately, I have not been able to duplicate the saw "hopping" issues yet in the limited amount of time I have spent with it. But I was able to solve the issue with the used replacement starter as it was simply wound too tight and the spring would jam up on itself at the end of its travel. There are a few things that can be done to make these easier to start. And I will make sure it goes back with those upgrades in place. (Details later! ) Also, a minor muffler mod never hurts these saws but I will leave that decision up to Kimberly as it's her saw. It runs perfect now (for a 290 that is.... ) and is in very good condition. But these wake up nicely if the restrictive exhaust is opened up some and it can be done with very little increase in noise.
Good work man. I would vote to let it breath better as well. It was either this post or another one she talked about it, but I think with the talk of tuning or whatever that issue was dropped...I can't remember the outcome. Heck it may be in this post? And as with any intermittent issue one just has to keep it and keep working it till the problem shows itself.
Don't expect much from me this weekend as I will be spending it with my family on a mini-vacation. I'll be back home on Tues tho and back on the job.
Us as well. We are going to NC to go on the "Thomas's Day Out" Thomas the train ride!! My little boy love thomas and all the other engines
Yes, I did talk about the muffler mod but was told it would have to be retuned and I was not sure I could do that properly. So if you want to do the muffler modification, I am all for it. Thanks, I really appreciate the work you are doing.
I like Thomas as well; I have a book here with all the stories. The twins loved watching Thomas when they were little.
That could have been the old recoil; I could not test with the new recoil because the rope would hang; so if you have the new recoil working properly now, it may not do the "hopping". However, keep it as long as you need; I have the Echo saw I can use that jon1212 gave me.
I've tried both recoils so far but only to make sure both are ok. I'm not condemning anything yet and I haven't even mounted a bar/chain.
Ask Red97 about the empty saw box he just got from ups recently that was supposed to contain a 346...
