Won't fit in the flat rate box. Maybe one of the regional boxes but those are not availible to ship everywhere, only certain regions. If we were to do this I would get you a label and email it to you. Both those places will pick up at the house. I can get a discount through my ebay and or USPS account .
It would be cheaper than $50 I am thinking it could be shipped to me for less that $17 one way by feD ex just thinking of the last few shipments I have sent. I just sent 11 pounds from here in SC to Southern Cal for $25.
Yep. Also need a closer weight than what the manual says...Unless we want to go with that which is probaby close enough cause usually the shipping goes up by the half pound anyway.
The last thing I shipped by FedEx was a desktop computer that my friend got me to repair; he paid for the shipping both ways from/to Texas and it was not cheap. The guy at the FedEx told me that the size of the package makes a difference as well and he did measure the box to calculate shipping. I would want to protect the saw but keep the size of the box down. I may have some sheet styrofoam I could put around the saw for protection. I need to see what boxes I have on hand; I save boxes; will visit my sister tomorrow; will see what boxes my BIL has as well.
Ok I just thought of something. Pull the recoil back off. See if that coil is tight in the saw?. Make sure the screws are tight and that it is not hitting the flywheel.
Find a box slightly larger than the saw. Then cut cardboard to fit inside all sides...basically double boxing it in cardboard. And then put plastic bottles around it or paper or somethingsimilar. Like I said I shipped a 35 pound battery charger In a box just slightly smaller than the power head would need to go in and I paid like $17 to ship fed ex to South LA.
OK, will do that tomorrow. it was not hitting the flywheel when I checked it earlier today but I did not try to wiggle the coil.
You will see marks on the flywheel if it's hitting. They usually will hit just on the magnet when they juse barely start hitting.
OK, I will inspect it tomorrow. I need to call it a night and get some sleep. Thanks guys for your help; it is really appreciated. Big Hugs.
I am not sure what it is, but i think it's a good thick piece of paper or maybe just normal paper thickness. I think the ones I have done usually have a piece of paper that you put between the two then pull out.....basically it's CLOSE!
I'm sure there is an actual spec for the gap, but when I fool with 'em I usually set it at 0.020" and have had no problems (a matchbook cover is supposed to be ~0.020" BTW)
Well dang it. That's a good thing though but if it was loose and touching we would of found the issue. I had a husky 372 that was acting wanky and wouldn't run right and I'm thinking would have a rough spot in the start. Well I looked and one of the screws was gone and the flywheel was crashing into the flywheel. It had pretty much destroyed that coil, so I pulled one ofF a parts saw and was good to go again.
