I would get the m tronic. It "seems" like they have alittle more torque when they pull down, you can lean on them alittle more.

The 261s along with any strato Ive built like a bit more fuel than a regular carb strato.

They are close but I can get a bit more rpm from a standard carb. Does it matter just cutting wood? Fark no, but I enjoy messing with these things.

Oh i dont doubt that. My 361 absolutely screams, but you cant lean on it as much as my 261 mtronic.

Don't tell anybody Tom, but I might take that 261 off your hands if ya get an arctic. That way it's not really leaving the "family".

buZZsaw BRAD do you still have the 026? Someone correct me if I’m wrong but there should be very little difference in power/weight between it and a new 261. Assuming the 026 is still in good shape.

There is a decent amount of more power in a 261. My 026 is ported and has a 044 carb and the 261 romps it.

I dont have my original 026 i bought in 1992, The MS290 replaced it in 2010. Cant remember exactly what i did with it. Is the MS260 basically the same as a 261? The 261 gets better "gas mileage" and has a better air filter?

Totally different saw. Might share a few of the same screws. Maybe the chain tensioner.
