MS260 tuning

    Those are from your drum bearing. That is your problem. Drum is catching clutch shoes.

    Easy fix, if you already have the drum off, then you already have it apart, just put a new bearing cage on over the crank where the drum goes and that's it. As long as noting but the bearing got damaged.

    I sent you a few pictures, it is on my 261, but is the same setup on a 260. Let me know if you got them and have any questions I might be able to answer.

    This guy does a nice job of describing how-to but beware he is using the next smaller saw for the demo. Part numbers will be different.

    Appreciate the help. Looks pretty straight forward. The needle cage bearing in my 260 was completely destroyed.
