Got about 4 tanks maybe thru our new MS461. Added a dual port muffler. Had some 30"+ oak logs to buck. Seems to be tuned pretty good now.

That certainly adds to your wood chips layer.

Jeff. I see that the logs appear to be placed on some boards. Now have you used those to mark your bucking size and to keep the tip of the blade from hitting the ground? I haven't seen you mark the log for bucking size. What size bar is that?

T.Jeff Veal tell me about your dual port muffler. Where’d you get it? How much it cost? Is it like getting a muffler mod? Do you have to retune? You suggest nine for any saw? thanks!

Here is one place to try. I have not used their products so I can't testify to how good their products are. https://gnarlychainsawcompany.ca/
However, I did contact then and ask about a duel port muffler for the 461 and their reply was "we sure do have them."

This is the cutting sled we built. Made from 4x4's. I had already marked the log for bucking. 32" bar. 0729201542.jpg

    I got it on eBay...STIHL 044 046 MS440 MS460 MS461 DUAL PORT MUFFLER 1128 140 0603 1125 140 0612 742271067978 | eBay
Yes sir, like getting a muffler mod...
Factory muffler... 0622202025_HDR.jpg 0622202026.jpg new muffler 0622202026b.jpg 0622202026c.jpg 0622202026d.jpg Lot bigger hole and slot.
Since saw is new, kept factory muffler intact.
Had to retune just a little, running richer.
I think it will help any saw.

Nice. That's about as big as I have cut with it so far. 36-38".
