I was led to believe that Rotax built motors to Aprilia's design spec. Now I'm not sure... either way, Rotax builds some good engines. and, for a lot of different ohv companies.
I spent a bit of time on the same vintage monster 620 dark. That one ate oil, but other than that wasn't a problem. Ducati warranted the motor. It was my roomies gf's bike. The desmo valve adjustments are a quirk, but not so bad once you get used to it. 7500 miles was the longer duration valve adjustments on ducs. The older superbikes were every 3k. They're Italian, next but beautiful. I have the best of both worlds, Suzuki tl1000s. Japanese engineering, 90° lc v-twin, with Italian inspired styling and motor.
Typically the Mfg tells Rotax how much room they have in the unit and a desired power output, Rotax does the rest. Some good, some not so good.
I hope you are short. That's one of the few Honda sport bikes I really like. But they are a torture rack. Even if you are short, they are only fun for short rides. I was a moderator on tlplanet until they sold the forum off to that 4 wheeled Honda tl thing enthusiast's site. We compared all the rc, tlr tls, tuono, rsv, 916-998, then the 999 and any other v twin sport bikes out there. Good stuff, until the site was sold....
Reference bobdog2o02's avatar..... Just kidding, bobdog2o02,..... I don't know how tall(or short) you are, OK?

Years ago, getting threatened by " being taken back to the woodshed" was a bad thing. Now, we're all interested in that woodshed. That looks like some red oak, some ash, and is that locust I see over there??? Son, that's not what he meant.
That's great! This old smoke dragon in the basement here would've chewed that first load up and puffed it out in under 3 weeks
