I used to own a ducati, biggest POS I've ever owned. I ride with a lot of ducati guys I know from am owners club I was with when I had mine. Junk, just junk. Mother Honda knows how to make bikes.
Technically it's a rotax motor. That's another company owned by bombardier, and they made some of the motors for Aprilia. I like my ohc v motors too. V twin, v 4, and if they are ever really available at a realistic cost, v5 motors.
What ducati did you have? Obviously some were turds, but they all at least have a soul. The mentality difference between Italians and Japanese is huge.
'02 monster 750ie dark. Couldnt wash it, terrible wiring harness and dash would leak shorting the ignition key reader circuit. ... and what a PITA to do a proper valve job. Hang frame from the ceiling and disconnect rear suspension to get access to rear exhaust rockers.... ridiculous. And THEN the valve interval is 7500 miles, FU.
