That’s cool. There’s a really large Sycamore in Sunderland MA called the Buttonball tree. Oddly enough I saw a Sycamore today in my work town that is huge. It has got to be 5-5.5’ across. A huge canopy. I’ll have to get some pics.
Thats cool. Almost looks as though the tree is eating the rock! Did a garage roof one time where an elm tree was engulfing the edge.
I never knew that Eric. Learned something new. Future stop for me and Ms. buZZsaw.. If i mention tree or wood she groans! LOL!!! Are those your boys in the pic?
Yeah that's a nice area of the state. Lots of farmland and open space. Right around the corner is a hiking trail that'll bring you to a big tower up on the ridge in the background with a nice view of Bloomfield, Avon, Hartford and beyond. Heublein Tower - Wikipedia Those are my two boys at the base of the tree, back in early May 2017.
National Forests in North Carolina - Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest The Hemlocks and Chestnuts are gone, but there are some giant Poplars left. I’d say some are pushing 200’.
Here is a big Pine I came across while bird hunting a few weeks back, about 2 miles off the road in the middle of the Chequamegon National Forest in North Central Wisconsin. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
Here is the Sycamore I saw yesterday. Originally I thought 5-5.5', but looking again I think it may be closer to 6' diameter. Huge, huge, tree. Pics don't really do it justice I also saw this huge burl. Almost wrapped around the whole tree
Ah! the once frowned upon "toilet paper tree". Now it's regarded as highly valuable! Probably more valuable that "black walnut"!!!!
