Uh...... buZZsaw BRAD, if your morning wood's been soft that long you may wanna see a doctor............ Ok, ok, sorry. I will take Pine when it's quick & easy, makes good heat in the boiler till the weather gets really cold. Allows me more seasoning time on Oak & Hickory for the dead of winter. Last year I could've saved two cord of good Oak by having more shoulder wood. I don't discriminate by species as much as by BTU.

The problem with pine is the sap for me. I dont want me, nor the Bronco to be a sticky mess.

several years ago a customer hired me to cut up and remove a large section of an EWP tree blowdown in her yard. My GF's son was maybe 15-16 at the time and helped me. We had to haul away the mess. Knowing what a sticky mess fresh EWP is i was very mindful when handling it and had mentioned it to him. Poor kid ended up covered with the stuff...gloves and sweatshirt. I just gt a little on the gloves and the handle of the saw.
