Tomorrow I'll finish stacking the Maple, it should come out to 1.24 cord or 4 NY Face Cord.

The first pic is the chit wood left over from the bottoms of the last stacks, I would use punky wood for the bottom row, not anymore.

Pic 9490 is the last load of the day and what's left of the Maple.

I made a run back in to fill in a low spot on the trail and then came back to finished up the stacking from yesterday and the new stack today.

The front row will be saved for some Beech and Sugar Maple.

Good find. There are numerous large sugar maple blowndowns up off the ground around here on crown land and I have permit. Only problem is I got a tandem load in June and it's all split and piled in the wood shed and no more room. We got about 7 years ahead now and I'm getting older and stiffer and slower. Heck, at this age I don't even buy green bananas. Maybe someone else will get a permit and use it. My wife says "not likely as they can't be bothered." She says"your're the only one" ... forget it ... won't go there. But she loves the fire.

On my ride today around the woods, I saw what looked to be a downed Sugar Maple branch and the best thing is the area is FLAT, I'll get a closer look this weekend.

I'll have some cleanup to do so I can get at it so I'm hoping it's a good branch.

If you saw it from afar, it's probably a good size! Good luck......
