Yep, some fly was drawn to it at some point for some reason... say 5 days to a week ago haha. Anyway, the smell is contingent on the wood being damp or wet at the time of handling. Periods of rain or defrosting snow will awaken the beast for a while till it dries out and then its not so bad.
Yeah, it's not a great smelling wood. That reminds me of my plan to trade seasoned silver maple for the neighbors black locust that is still in rounds for their fire pit use.... Gotta love the nice scores of great firewood.
