Hey, how in the heck did you make those round "splits?" Get ready, someone will soon remind you that wood doesn't really start drying until it is split and stacked.
It was 73° just a few minutes ago. I'm sitting outside surfin' on the tablet. If I remember correctly, bow season starts next week here. About half the leaves would be off the trees by then. Right now there isn't even any color to speak of. I may not start burnin' till December if this keeps up.
I wondered if anyone would pick up on that one. Actually there are quite a bunch of rounds in there but they are all quite small. there are a couple that look large but they are actually split but not broken apart but they break apart really easy. I do that sometimes when I'm splitting especially white ash but there are some nice oak round in there like that too. Actually, I did not remember as much oak in that stack as what I'm finding and had to open up another stack to get more ash. The oak all gets saved for January and February night burns.
You're not behind Backwoods Savage sir-not a thing wrong with letting felled logs jump start seasoning on the ground-I'm about to retrieve several that hit the ground last April...ahhhh, the 3 yr plan...you cut when you wanna...
Might as well get er done Dennis, never know around here might Snow next week. I don't know when I'm going to be able to get the leaves picked up, they have to fall off first, I hope it don't snow before I get it done
Think I'll hide all the oak before the gtg! And if we do have it, you and your lovely bride had best show up!
I cant remember our last snow in November...but we did have a cold snap @ Thanksgiving for once-our rifle season always opens Monday the week of Thxgiving and more often than not, its in the 60's, sometimes 70's-sucks for hunting but preserves the hoard...here's hoping for a traditional fall and winter... Was 80 here today
