They have the big base pad poured for the 2 silos now

 

The silos pad and end of building are completed
The calciner hearths are coming along fine. Only 3 more to lay and then the top

 

Last hearth is done, finish up the wall, and then the top.

 

Had a chance to check out the progress on the new calciner.
They have gotten the top bricks laid, now a poured mix goes over that ,even with toop of steel shell...hole in the middle is top of center shaft.
Getting gas and combustion air lines ran and hooked up to the burners

 

I can't even imagine what that cost to build these days...

 

Me either. All that stainless...
Keep buying that good paint...Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Glidden, Ace Royal, PPG...

Big damper to control pressure and combustion gases. Also see the casting inside big pipe.
The top mix has been poured
A good view of the center shaft with arms and rakes attached. Note the openings, top hearth clay falls through center, bottom hearth clay falls through the outside holes. That's the way clay moves through the kiln.
