It kind of works... my palm measures in the 30's and KD is anywhere from single digits to 13%. Firewood wood sometimes gives believable readings, and sometimes wrong so I would probe a freshly split piece a few times.

If you ever wanted to try one, now is the time. I will ship without battery. It also has replacement tips.

Because I like this crowd. I am almost 3 years C/S/S with possibly half of year 4 sitting here to waiting for the S&S part. No need to check, it'll be dry enough.

Id be honored to give it a shot if its still available ! Im just curious !! My stuff is dry enough... But think its cool to put a number to it for chits and giggles !

 

I almost got one a couple years ago but I kept doing the smack test (hitting them together).This last year I put a dehumidifier next to a half a cord in my basement and was shocked at how much water it took out of wood.I could hear the cracks popping as I was loading the furnace.

 

My dehumidifier takes so much power to run by the time I turned it on it would kind of defeat the heat with wood saving thing. Wouldnt cost near what the heat would but it does use power.
