Wouldn't you like to have been a mouse in the corner of your neighbors house to see his reaction to having that wood dropped in his driveway :bug: ... Great Job there Machria ...

Was VERY warm the last few days, we hit 69 yesterday. But last weekened it was 34 and we had flurries! Had my first fire going all night. Supposed top drop down tonight again and stay there for the duration now (in low 40's at night, 50's day which would be normal for us this time).
No deer blind in there, but LOTS of deer that walk right up to you. I can hand feed them leaves, they walk right up to you. Don't even need a riffle to hunt here, just grab him by the neck....! ;) A few weeks ago, a deer followed my wife up the stairs to the front door of the house, and tried going in the house with her when she opened the door, much like a dog would do when you come home. Nuts!

Well I certainly hope you gave your neighbor a decent price to cut and move all that wood for him......

    ROFLMAO

    Nice score.

Now that would really be neat! We have them come to the porch but as far as we know they've never been on the porch. Not tame enough either to hand feed but we'd love to have a couple that way. We've had several we could get close to but the worst part is those are the ones that get killed first in the season to other people who don't appreciate them or just want to shoot the first deer they see.

On the wood, it would have been really neat to see the look on the neighbor's face when he saw that wood in his driveway!

in your second pic, to the right of the saw handle there is a log with the face cut. its perpendicular to the others. probably stunk like heck. bark kinda shatters and left lots of shanks.

hmmmmm.... I didn't look or smell any of this very good as I was in a hurry to get it out of there. But at a glance I thought that was Cedar, and if I recall it smelled like it. I'll double check it, I haven't split any of it yet.

I got about 5 cords dropped off the other day...as long as its not Knotty it splits nice...when you find branch shoots or such it loads up my TW6 good.
im betting its shaggy bark and not cedar.

Well, it was a pretty big piece of it (aka thick round), that bar sitting on there is a 28"er for reference.

Those are odd looking cuts at the base of the biggest log and also at the base of the cedar. Did you see the guys cutting?

No, it was all down when I got there, this was actually the last of a bunch of loads, the lot was almost empty when I was there. I also noticed those odd cuts. They were VERY happy when I said I would take the wood un-cut, and I knew why because the big piece of maple I pointed out I wanted they were just about to start cutting up and the guy had a little tiny saw (looked like a real small older echo), maybe a 12" bar on it. So that might explain those cuts, AND the happiness to not have to cut it up! ;)

I bet they cut off the stump flare so it would stack or roll easier. A sign of a guy that has a crane and flat cuts the log at ground level.
