Missjudged the weather

0 degrees F with 11 mph winds, gusting to 20. Minus 11 F tomorrow night, -19 Thursday night. Something to look forward to, great way to usher in the New Year.

Very glad I get to stay in a warm cozy home.

Days like these make me think of the settlers.....

 

Well, the forecast for Thurs. night went from -11 to -7.
With that kind of a warmup, I'll need to pull out the shorts and Hawaiian shirt.

 

-3 tomorrow.

Kind of messed up on the reload for the 30. Forgot hardwood lasts a lot longer. Just reloaded the 30 five hours into a burn with the stove top at 500. It was like a blast furnace opening the door to that stove. Crammed in four splits and closing the air down.

 

Been there done that and you will probably end up with a huge bed of coals that take forever to burn down........
Always seems like adding a couple of splits on top of something that hasn't burned down good ends up making them collapse under the fresh stuff and then they won't burn like they should.
