Cant believe I haven't grabbed one of those years ago already.Maybe this will be the year.Delta 14" Bandsaw with 1HP motor & riser block,TimberWolf silicon steel low tensile blades has served me well for a long time however. That is a good price,every once in a while Bailey's and another retailer have it for same price & occasionally with free shipping.
We did get a chance to try it out. I edged a stack of boards with it. First thing you want to do is make sure it's mounted on the chainsaw the right way. I had it backwards, so I was getting a face full of chips the whole time. Also we didn't have the track for it, and just ran it up against a fairly straight board. If you were sawing the boards with it, rather than just edging, you'd definitely want the track. We ran a 60cc saw on it; and it struggled a little making the cut (a stack of four 2" thick boards). If I was sawing the boards, I think I'd want 70cc or better. That Delta is just a regular woodworking vertical bandsaw. I don't have a delta bandsaw, but I do use mine for resawing too and it works great. Here's a pic of my setup; I did a thread on it a while back and I could post more info later if you're interested.
Mini mill works great if it's not got to be real precise. I used a 088 on one in poplar about 14" thick and could almost walk down the log with it.
