there is a spot on the rh case i like to notch just because for safety ,with the slotted jug holes could be off a tad front to back ,this lil spot i remove with a carbide bit ,not required maybe ,but when my jug was loose could feel the piston hit slightly before bolted down ,something to look for anyways 440 hybrid 10-27-14 004 whi.jpg

20150316_185418.jpg And here's the intake. All I've did to it is widen it to the oem bevels and square it up. Sorry I forgot a before pic. I have not checked my ring end locations so I may widen it some more. We will see. Lol. By the time I finish this up it will land about 77°. On a 460 I lower the intake to 80°. I'm not going to on this one because of case volume. It will stay at the 77° or so I will give the final numbers.

I was lying in bed and was thinking man if someone is following this thread. What if. I just wanted to make this clear that this is my saw and I will take it to the max. I believe where I am heading will make this an amazing runner but we will see. So please be cautious if you build one of these. The .072 and .040 is the max I could take. .062 and .030 would be closer to what I would do for a customer just to ensure longevity of the saw. Thank you for following along.

Thank you. I just don't want someone to build the saw the same as me and it not handle it. If i take this saw to far I guarantee Ya'll will be the first to know. Lol.

20150317_172401.jpg 20150317_172354.jpg Here's the finished exhaust. Notice I didn't take any off the floor of the exhaust right at the piston. I'm at free porting now. So I didn't want to lower it at all.

I forgot to add I raised the squish band a little. It has .025 squish now. That's where u like to run a bigger saw like this. Especially if I'm gonna be pumping a lot of comp.

do you know what your elevation is ? Seems like compression raises some when i get my saws back from where they were done ,about a 2k feet elevation diff i think, i am about 300 ft above sea level

On both jugs. There both gonna be pretty high comp and i like the security of the added squish. The other jug is on hold for know. I'm gonna put the 046D saw together and see what I got going and then I have a couple 044 laying here that are mine that I havnt got to yet so I'm gonna pull one of them apart and mock the other jug up on it so I can see how they run against each other. Or that's my plan anyway. The 460 jug is gonna be running a higher exhaust. That customer wants it built for a 20" bar.

20150318_173802.jpg I got it put together tonight and intial fire up. She has some issues so When I tear it back down to iron those put I'll get pics of the flywheel mod. It started and ran but acts like I may have a small air leak. And something in the carb box is funny. Won't idle down till I screw on the air filter. All little things but I will try to get them ironed so I can get you a vid.

I didn't post this last night I had lots of configuration on my mind. Lmao. But the numbers on this saw are 102/118/77. And comp well who knows. Dam comp guage have been a killer for me. Hopefully that fix is on order. My cheapo bit it, then my lisle bit it, and I don't think my motion pro is cutting it. So a new snap on is on order. Be here tue. Lol
