    Not sure if this been mentioned but I applied for and received my VA card.. Supposed to be Home Depot, restaurants, etc. that give discounts with this card and no need to show DD-214 with the card.. Yes, it's free..

    Lowes also gives 10%, register on line and all you have to do is give them a phone #.
    Also, forgot to mention Golden corral resturants give a "free" meal/dinner/supper to all Veterans, on Veterans day. :yes:

    Yes, Lowes makes it easy! I use them all the time either online or in-store you get 10% off everything even if on sale.. HD only in-store and lumber not included.. The advantage of VA card is DD-214 not needed for places that do offer military discounts..

    US Navy, 2000-2004 (active) E1-E5
    US Navy Reserve, 2004-2007 (active drilling reservist) E-5
    GM2 (SW) my NEC's were Small Arms Instructor, 25mm chain gun tech and 76mm anti aircraft gun tech
    Stationed in Pearl Harbor for my AD period on the USS Crommelin FFG-37 (now an artificial reef) and stationed at a small Seabee base in Missouri for my reserve time.

    Also, like SD Steve above... I too have a Coast Guard Spec Ops ribbon, which is not very common for Navy folks to have.

    Ha ha the 25 Mike Mike, got to fire that one once, put about a box of ammo into the target, I was surprised by the strap that goes around you to hold you in the gun. My favorite rounds were the SAPHEIT rounds. Semi Armor Piercing High Explosive Insidiery Tracers....I can't believe I actually remember that one
