Thanks to everyone for their service, my Dad served in WWII and is currently 89 years old. He went in the last year of the war. I myself have never served, although I did work for Grumman for 10 years supplying the best planes in the world to the gentlemen on here serving in the Navy onboard ships. Hopefully some of the planes I worked on helped to keep them safe.
KOOL, same here though elsewhere. AH-1 Mod's or UH-1? (judging by timeline) we had AH-1P cobra's at Bliss when I first got there, turned them in for ECAS birds shortly after.
AH-1 Cobras, and UH-1. We had great times at the shooting range. Got to fly front seat in a Cobra full on rock and roll at
I was there last month. Just to be clear I am not in the army and never was. I am not trying to pretend or be something I am not. Not that there is anything wrong with serving our country.
You clearly are a supporter and very important to the morale of our service people.. Thanks for your role!
was with 63rd TAMC in the 3rd ID 86 to 88 when the 3rd herd was in Germany. stationed at Geibelstadt Army airfield, just outside Wurzburg. ranges were up at Graf. when we went to gunnery we would stay there a month supporting the 2 attack battalions and the 3/7 Cav. as they rotated through. ive got some live fire pics at home but they are still just paper one of these days i'll scan them in and post some
Cav is no joke. This is a great read about a Cavalry Scout that was in country when I was. http://www.amazon.com/Carnivore-Memoir-Cavalry-Scout-War/dp/0062288393
Picture looked familiar. My Father wore a belt buckle with this silhouette on it for the first 25 years of my life. He served on LPH-7 Guadal Canal 67-68. Sincere Thank You to all current and former US Military. I will not forget your sacrifices.
I was eating lunch at the Subway in the BX on DARB (Dobbins Air Reserve Base) today amongst some of our finest today. Several Air Men were in there and about a half a dozen Marines. Again thank you to all who servered. I feel honored to be in the presence of current and past folks who served. Thank you for keeping me and my family safe everyday.
Got a call from my daughter last night . She was selected for promotion to Master Sargeant . Makes an old man proud !
Before I head out for the weekend, I wanted to just drop this here. It fills me with great pride that I can belong to another great group of people who have such great veteran representation. With that being said, I will be lifting a drink this weekend for all of our brothers and sisters who never made it back and cannot enjoy this long weekend. I am proud to have served with many who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Fair winds and following seas and I salute you all.
Happy 241st Birthday to all of my fellow Devils out there in FHC-land. For all of you other great veterans, I will catch you tomorrow, but tonight it is all about the Corps!! Semper Fidelis.
Thank you High Country, and all the Marines here! You beat me to it!!! To all our Brothers in arms, Happy Birthday Marine!
