I can see the pile again and remember now what it's like to burn in shoulder season. I'll be crossing the finish line with 1/2 - 3/4 of a cord split and another 1/4 cord + in log form. Next year will be different. This remaining wood will get properly stacked and next year I will be segregating my piles with different quality that I can pick from as need be. That was my biggest complaint this year. I was not well aligned with the wood needed for the different weather. At times burning oak before I needed and then having to burn junk when I needed more btu's.
I think I can make it. Burning less every week. It warmed up for a few days this week. It was just raw out today though. Pretty sure I am going to skim by on the wood I have left.
I will make it even if I have to dip into next years. I pulled some oak off the back stack in the shed but seems like a waist to burn 4 year seasoned oak in shoulder season here in SC. Think I may pull out some of the pine I had for next year if I need too. Rather burn that than my oak.
