We actually have a protest here tonight. I drove up to the starting point and it is a bunch of forest service invader kids, and micro brewery girls. I am not a fan of tourism. No one is wearing their masks. So much for quarantine for out of staters:emb: .

MT plates are usually good around here. My wife is E.side native-Miles City, she likes to identify counties from plate numbers.
"Gapers" come from all states. We put up with them usually.

edit- Texans are an exception. Q- What do Texans use for birth control?
    A- Their personalities. ;)

  Old habit of most natives. We always look at plates. 4 is Missoula. Eastern Montana is still pretty good. My aunt was the mayor of big old Clyde Park for years.

Miles City! My wife lived there for a year and a half working at the research station while we were dating. Seemed to be a decent town the little time i visited. Small world!

Stay alert if you go to town.
Had a guy shot in the head by a "protester" down in Alamosa last week. I mean really, in Alamosa?? Shooter is in custody, 27 yr. old defense attorney. Victim is on life support. It's bullchit and I've had enough.

It's still a cool little town. They got a new stop light, finally. They're building "round-a-bouts" at the highway on/off ramps, so traffic collisions have increased. Uhmm... there's a new hotel, casinos all over, the "Taco Johns" is doing well (my SIL is the manager), and everyone still likes "airport pizza".
A dear friend of mine and her fiance just moved there a few months ago, they love it. Miles is doing Ok .!

I AM! All that privilege is showing itself. Time for some volcanic ash like when when Mount Saint helens dusted us. Then things would be all better:p:D
The snow does get old, but one nice thing is it keeps loons away for a good part of the year.

    Edit:
Not our Loon. just loonies bin types.

The wife spent lots of time at the bison, the montana, the hole in the wall and 600 cafe. Always talks about boob sweat pizza at the trails end haha. Miles city was the first place i saw 4 wheelers running up and down the roads (illegal in Va). She was there in 2008-09...im sure quite bit has changed.

uh.. if the 4-wheelers were running around on July 4th, ..yeah.. I may be guilty. I've been going up there since '96, not a tremendous amount of change, thankfully.
I like the small town going's-on.

I believe so. There is always little tremors going on. The last earthquake we felt here was last fall. It actually had my aquariums shaking water out. Which reminds me that I need to get to building a fiberglass one soon.

The Yellowstone Caldera is always shaking. Always activity in that area, really nothing unusual ... but do pay attention.
For fun, check out- Parkfield, Calif. earthquakes. 600 per day.... and you never knew they were occurring. One of my old fire stations.
-www.parkfieldcafe.com - best BBQ Tri-tip and Linguicia you'll ever eat.
