All the nursing homes I know of do not allow any residents outside....they are not free to come and go at any point. Thus is my limited exposure and knowledge. Those are the ones that have not gone out and contracted the virus themselves.

As far as not having been through this before, we have indeed been through this already. However, the states did not shut down or create stay at home orders or even lay off people, 100 years ago and that pandemic was much more serious.

Social distancing and required masks seem to be the primary response to the Spanish flu along with fresh air treatment and salt water gargling.

Just so you know, I do not and will not condone public gatherings and close exposure situations. I also, do not allow any visitors to stop by now will I stop by anyone else's place. I do use the mask out in stores, PO's, gas stations....I think those are the only places I go.

But I also do not need someone with a political agenda and only high hopes of furthering their career telling me what to do, where to go, when the very executive orders they issue are obscenely flawed! How is it that travel in state is (was) prohibited while out of staters can show up and any given moment without going through a quarantine period? Something slip by the think tank down there in Lansing?

I will not be guilted into the "saving lives" approach the gov has taken. We do not need those restrictions up here.....L.P. obviously the common sense and basic knowledge seems to be on the lower side. (No offense) Just look at the numbers of the cases in the cities....as well as the one case that we do know about of the "essential first line responders" that brought the virus home to their very own daughter!

wishlist I think we will get through this even with our opposing views. The state and the nation will be worse off in the end and we'll both be in for a long recovery.

Rest assured that if it was anywhere near as bad up here as it is down there, I would have different views. And rest assured that out in the western states (MT, WY)where the numbers/population are also comparably low (or lower) you cannot condemn them for continuing with their lives. What works goof for L.P. does not automatically become necessary for the U.P.

    Stay healthy, my friend!
