    Brad, you certainly do not need that much slope for the top of a wood stack. A 3-4" drop should be enough; just so the water runs off.

    The stack just happened to happen that way. I was in a hurry (as always) when the stack was created. Had the 2x12 and some 40"x 48" pallets and built it into the slope. When its empty next time, ill make it nicer. I figured might as well take advantage of gravity with the metal. The far end will dump the water away from where i back in lessening the mud factor. Guess its just the roofer in me as well. Faster it gets off the roof the less likely it is to leak!
