Back to fruitcakes. I regularly made my own for years but the last couple of years, no one locally carries the ingredients that I like using. Candied pineapple and candied citrus peel. Candied cherries are still around but in little containers. Next year I am going to try other types of candied dried fruit.
I know what you mean. All 5 of our grandkids were at least 3 hours away. None of them are babies anymore.
