First time for everything.... I get to work this year... But Sunday I'll be going home to go visit graves with Mom and Dad.
I'm heading to the NE corner of Michigan's lower peninsula to do battle with biting insects, have a campfire or two and free some imprisoned beer from a can or two.
Our plans got snuffed out a bit so this weekend will be a very quiet one but we'll still be happy as we are together.
Between the cottage and graduation receptions, I'm sorry to say that there will be NO trips to Menards this weekend. Of course, church will be attended (each and every weekend) and I hope to put some more work in on the garage while at the cottage. Maybe try fishing since I've been skunked each time so far this year! Brats, burgers, dogs, teriyaki chops, corn on the cob, that sort of stuff to top off my cravings!
You couldn't pay me enough to join the crowds of weekend warriors on a 3-day weekend. I'll be picking up my new puppy and then hanging out at home.
May we all take time this weekend to honor those who paid the ultimate price in service to our country, so that we can continue to enjoy our freedom, and to remember their families.
Absolutely! Every year I look forward to carrying my father's and other veterans flags out at our Memorial Day Service. It's an honor.
