Got out and split today, filled another pallet rack. Should I fill the space between the new rows with splits sideways? Currently theyre a 1/4 cord each. More sugar maple, black locust, oak and cherry mix

You certainly could fit some wood between the rows, although that'll reduce airflow for both the rows and extra wood you're thinking about cramming in. If you're planning on selling the wood later this year, I'd leave it alone. If it's going to sit until the 2027-2028 season, cram it in (unless it's oak or another multi-year drying wood, which needs all the air flow it can get)

I was thinking about airflow when I left it open, but this will be 27-28 wood. There is oak in the mix but its tops that have been cut to rounds for a year and I metered a few in the low 20s.
