Lol, no I don't. It's just that one, not many guys have the saw to take the really big stuff and two, that land owner has a big expensive problem lying in their yard. They typically don't ask for $$ for the wood, just want it gone. It ends up benefiting us both.
I didn't stop after work today. Had some mowing and daughter stopped over. I am betting it's still there for the reason you stated. Not many guys with saw enough to tackle the big ones.
No, but she had NEVER pointed out free wood to me either. I give her anxiety over the amount of what she calls "junk" in my processing area, which is about 1/20 of our property, and you can barely see it from the front of our house. I admit, my free pallet hoarding is a bit out of control, but with the price of lumber these days, I must have them. Then there is the mountain of unsplit rounds I built up last year. I had to encroach on the nice part of the property with my latest scores, so she just stares at them with disgust. But free wood waits for no man.
I'm in process of getting my mountain of rounds split and stacked. That's about the only thing that my wife takes issue with.
The first step to recovery is admitting there's a problem. We'll be here to help you down that road! Trust me!
There are a few very large rounds left that I locked in for Saturday. Will let the 056 eat and see how their neighbors like it!!
. Sorry for inadvertently hijacking the thread, Ron. But one conversation leads to another.... Anyway, I have fallen in love with these double inside runner pallets. A warehouse a few miles from me puts out dozens of these every week, they are pret near brand new, and all oak. Always need more racks.
