Maple mountain has been shrinking. Down to two rows of rounds/chunks. Got all the wood from this score CSS as well as some of the silver maple from the prior maple score. Finished the first row in the middle bay of the bundle wood shed and the second. Six rows to fill that bay. Each row roughly two face cords.
Split the rest of the red maple today. Cut back in April from my Red Maple Score thread. Most ended up in general cordage. A little went for bundle wood. Silver and sugar maple left to split. Maybe four face cords worth.
Are you referring to the shed of splits? If so yes. I built the third bay so I have one emptying, one filling and one drying. Each holds four cords. The drying one was topped off three months ago and I've already started using the wood for bundles. I wanted to have this one filled by Memorial day but that didn't happen. With what rounds I have on hand I should finish another row. Ash, sugar maple and silver maple mix. Ideally I'd like nothing but red maple and cherry but have to take what I can. It's designed to be filled from the front, back to front and emptied back to front so the driest wood always being used. I carefully thought it out and it seems to work well so far. Now having eight accounts for bundles the pressure is always on to acquire bundle wood.
The mountain shrank again yesterday. (after pic) Split some silver maple. Most went for general cordage. The rest went for bundle inventory.
Maple mountain shrunk again today. Split more silver maple. Split mountain is growing. Five wheelbarrow fulls went next door for bundle wood inventory. (forgot pics of that) What's left. Silver and sugar maple.
Maple mountain is no more. Got all the round split this week. Now just mountains of splits. Silver Maple with red in the back. Sugar Maple.
