Maple Down

Home from work early today and I decided to drop the maple I was eye balling as I was done with the cherry. And even got some (what I think is) silver maple cut up. They were small trees but it all adds up and I had them down anyway to cut down the cherry. And of course pictures.

The distinct cherry color, nice job. Looks like you got some 12-14" trees there, good sizes, very manageable.

 

I have to do all the hauling by hand in the woods, as I won't take the wheel barrow out there so anything too big and I can't move them by hand. The red maple was a little over 12 inches, and the cherry was a little over 14 if I remember correctly.

 

It all looks great. Depending on what height trees you cut you could have a 1/2 to 2/3 of a cord.

I'm relatively sure both trees were in the mid 20's. The cherry a bit taller by a few feet but it was all brush. But I'll have to do the measurement on the before and after of the wood shed to be 100% sure.

Saturday most likely, neighbor is bringing down his splitter so I'm laying off the splitting by hand to get as much cutting done as possible so I can play with the splitter all day long. Will have pics though.

Maybe I'll borrow the girlfriend's camera to take pics, rather than use my ipod.

 

Yep, apparently it's a new trend. I also have permission from my boss to scrounge his brush pile so provided it's not raining tomorrow after work I might have some miscellaneous rounds in the back of my car.

 

Either a selfie or a picture of my poor little focus squatted down on it's rear springs.

 

Won't be any snow in the picture this time.
