Update: due to orders from SWMBO, the hearth was extended to meet the 18" clearance for Maine and Canada. Had to cut the wood floor around the stone hearth down to slab. Then shot 2x4's into the cement for support. Then cut tile cemented to cement board. PITA. Free at last.......
Again you were not required to do that according to Maine codes. But I still think it is a good idea though.
Smokey, the reality is that everyone is "from away" at some time, local, out of state, out of town. Now, as for the "pics, or it didn't happen", how about some assist on the HOW, or a source for that. Lead. You have to know what you don't know.
When you are making a post there are three buttons at the bottom. Click on upload a file then select the pic you want to post. That’s it, simple.
Someone's butt obviously still sore because I banned them for making personal insults on another site.
I was able to put my Alderlea T5 way far back to the wall because of the heat shield and the double wall. I now have 20" from opening to edge of brick hearth
We don't use social media at all due to security concerns. Adobe Flash adds 'notices' and links that we unfortunately don't want. No buttons. So pics if not .pdf are out. Some of the pics you guys post are excellent; the detailed closeups of repairs on saws and machinery especially. Too bad. It's what I have to do with those complex part repairs like a carb rebuild ( never again ). This rural location has slow copper wire ( i.e. phone line ) internet...we are the "last mile". And, believe it or not, we don't use a cell phone ( no bars here ). Just have a low end emergency phone for the cars that's rarely used.
