The steps were easy and far from perfect. Since they were blocks at 50-70# a piece I just tamped Stone and placed. Time will tell if they shift but for now no wobble.

The tapered board (good eye) was my final touch to the akward front to clean up the look. Never could have imagined that front fascia would take me the better part of a day, maybe a couple beers didn't help. It was a goofy build, just glad it's complete and functional.

Deck is overbuilt and to code. Amazing that now I know latest code I see what some inspectors will pass (nails only on railing posts at a friend's house) had me shaking my head:loco:

You'll probably find between frost heaving, rain and ants one or two might shift over time. SO you move one where you want it when the time comes.

Wifey did her thing, she did a nice job. Need more wood chips but it's more or less done.

Hey, if you want some hostas I have some that need digging up and dividing. The only thing stopping me for the most part is having someplace to put them. The last time I divided some up that got kinda big and I had to move I ended up giving away about 35-40 to a woman that had a small landscaping business going on the side.
I can post a pic when they bloom. They're not small hostas. But they're not elephant either. These have been doing fairly well in afternoon baking sun so they're fairly tough compared to some that prefer lots of shade. I also have some of these in the shade but a deer (or two) has taken a liking to them. I could keep checking Lowes for used pots or just use ripped up pieces of fabric like last time. I would probably dig in the Spring but you're supposed to be able to butcher them in the Fall with success as well.

The iris look like blue flags.
They're considered a bit of a weed here as they do <well> under even poor conditions.
Another thing I can give away hundreds of. That and the orange flower daylilies that grow wild around here.
Pretty sure the blue flags are native, unlike the orange daylilies that were imported in the 1600s or thereabouts.

We have had bad luck with the deer, but they do look great when they don't get eaten. I can wait until fall or next spring to take you up on that offer! Right now I am fighting what I think is a strained MCL so my wife is doing the "hard" labor.

32 yards of wood chips which I found for a wicked good deal at $5/yd delivered

Slowly filling in that bank with loose stone, thus the exposed weeds.

That'll look good when the sun fades them all grey, too.
