Makin' sawdust

No kidding, I ain't never seen nothin' like it.

 

I'm way behind with my pics here.....
Sawed up the white pine we picked up a few weeks back.....
Made 3/4" x 12" mostly, with some 10" & narrower stuff.

 

Picked up a mimosa log a while ago, kinda pretty...... similar to black walnut in density and behavior while sawing.

 

A little cedar and oak a couple different customers brought over for milling.

 

Did up an order for a bunch of oak 3/4" x 10" barn siding...... stickered all the culls for whenever somebody wants low grade boards.

 

Ain't sawdust but..... something we did in the last few weeks..... helped a milling customer pour a slab for his shop.

 

White oak trailer decking outta customers logs.
1.5" x 8" x 16'

 

And most recently, I sawed up a few cottonwood logs...... just because.

 

A lot of our time lately has been going into a good size salvage job.....
Lots of dead standing trees, and storm killed stuff.

Made some grinding dust with the new blade sharpening equipment today......

 

How do you like the new sharpener?

 

So far so okay, it just arrived today.
I think it's a decent machine.
It's going to be a learning curve, but I think it's going to work pretty well.

I'll try to post updates as I get it dialed in.....or maybe I should just do a separate thread on it.

The most recent log scrounge....yellow pine, white & red oak.

 

That's some nice logs, sure would make some gud farwood...
