Lowe's did this for me when they delivered to my house when I wasn't there. Came home to two bags on top. There was only one really damaged bag.
yea, sure, but that doesn't help you if the truck driver messes them up while unloading....I don't care how good you are, EVERYONE messes up backs sometime.
The plastic used in the covers and in the 40# bags probably has a 12 month UVI additive - that's what I buy anyway. bogieb mentioned the liners. There's more to them than many people realize. It isn't just simple cardboard - at least, it shouldn't be. It's a 175# anti-slip sheet with a moisture barrier. It's waterproof. When testing vendors I cut a piece, form a bowl with it and fill it with water - with a paper towel underneath. With good quality liners, the water will evaporate and the paper towel will not get wet.
Notice u have Okie Golds in your signature.... how do u like them? I might be getting a couple ton along with the Hamers.
As long as you were OK with it and discussed that with the driver, thats fine. I understand more than most others that chit happens, but it just gets me when we are now conditioned to accept sub par service and products in general and pay good $$ for it.
I only burned the bags that were broken and I really liked them. They are hotter burning than the PTL's and FSU's that I burned all winter in the P43, with little ash. The Hamer's run even hotter in the P43, but if you get a good price for the Oakies they are certainly worth more than the BBS stuff. If I remember correctly, the P61 really liked them a lot too. I am saving the rest for the colder parts of next winter.
With Okanagan on the verge of Bankruptcy, We might not see them golds too much longer............ Should be able to get other SYP from down south to up yonder. EasyBlaze is just one and I'm sure someone might try to haul up some and bag under another brand name.............
Who knows, Jay! I've sold EZ Blaze.......meh. Given the pretty uncertain times with oil prices, warm weather, supposed HUGE inventories just hanging around, fairly large monetary investments to buy carloads of bulk product, I am not so certain that many folks would do this. A more likely outcome could be the pigs who plan ahead will be better served than the majority of pellet burners who don't plan ahead. They totally don't do anything about next fall supply, until, oh, August or maybe September, maybe later. Those folks might have real issue on their hands. Almost certainly fewer brands available...and some of these, like Okanagon, are great products, they just aren't around anymore. So, more pressure on existing mills and suppliers. I could be wrong too! This might be self-serving, but if you plan on burning next fall, I highly suggest you do buy early.....and folks, early ISNT August, it's earlier. I feel it's already started....you liked the Okie Golds? Distinct possibility you won't be able to get then even now. Will there be others? I don't know. But if I am right, I DO know I will point out this post in the fall, when everyone is lamenting about lead times and availability, and say: I TOLD YOU SO. The people here, I like to think as the 5 %ers. More technically adept, more understanding about the pellet production process, and supply process, than 95% of the pellet burners out there. An ancient Chinese curse comes to mind here: "May you live in interesting times". I feel this fall and winter could certainly be "interesting times".
Sounds like a Major Chit storm could be brewing , I guess it may be up to us 5%er's to help push those 95%er's get their Chit together
Lol! Hey, will, I could be wrong as well! Maybe just simpler to say there isn't much downside to buying soon?
Kevin you could be , but you're more in the know than us , To me this is a market correction , buy now and lock in your gains , if supply gets scarce price is only going up . We need to keep the demand up so the suppliers will keep making them . I'm just a pellethead ,whose CYA ing
Hey, I did my part. I got 3 peeps to go get next years chit now............. I expect lots of cryin if oil rockets and pellets again become da chit to have. Never say never in the pellet world, Chit just seems to happen............
that it is, and it was caused by the strangle hold oil had on us. Too much money in one pocket and it had a negative impact in every other market. But don't hold your breath. Oil will be back again. Shutting down for a while just helps dry up those markets for alternatives to oil. Once they are squashed, oil will be back stronger than ever. The speculators have too large a hold on the economy.
Dang it! I don't have mine yet! But, I leave for the sunny Caribbean here in.....90 minutes! I will try not to think of pellets much while snorkeling the reefs, eating different fare (grilled monkey, anyone?)........
