They worked okay. But, they can move around. They can come off. So you have to keep checking on them and keep them tight. (If you can.) And you have the bucket in the way of your view. Q/A stay stay put, and you can see through them somewhat, depending on the design.

They get the job done...but a pain in the butt really. You have to treat them very carefully so as to not knock them off or damage them as Gas said. Also, you cannot see the fork tips when you are holding the forks level (like you would whenever you are coming in to a load) Get QA's...my 2 cents

Definitely get the SSQA's. The clamp on's put the load way to far away from the loader pivot and with that put too much stress on the load and the bucket.

Not lately, I've started it up that's about it. The trails around the house are all ice so even when I have the rhino on the trails it will slide toward the trees so once we get this snow that should help with traction for the tractor.

I'm planning a new trail into the bowl for the tractor which will take place this spring/summer.

It sounds like we might be in for a power outage if we get the ice (0.31) with the wet heavy snow.

I did a fluid check today (everything was gooder) and I filled it up with diesel, I then scraped down the driveway. After that I took it back through that new trail I cleared that will go to the hill in the back, the trail is tractor safe.

I had it out on a different trail in front of the house tonight, I'll need to widen a few areas on this trail if I need to use it at night.

Gasifier , after our little conversation last night about the big delay on the third function kit for the 4540, I called the Wood Chop Shop and told them I didn't want to go much longer without an answer.

The guy at the Wood Chop Shop had been going up the ladder to get info at the company doing the third function kit so after our talk today he called and went down in the chain of command, bingo.......the person gave him the sku number which they had for three weeks. They could/should have it next week if everything goes well, plow/dozer blade should be on before or the latest by the end of the first week of February.

I'll give Greg at the Wood Chop Shop credit, he stayed on it even though the company doing the third function kit for Mahindra never got back or used about three different excuses.

Nice. Glad to hear it. I know a Greg who works in the Ogdensburg store. I wonder if it's the same guy? Prolly so. John said he was going to make the trip this week to western Pennsylvania to pick up and bring back my 75B backhoe. Not sure if he was doing it himself or sending someone else. He may have if Greg is over there filling in for him.? Maybe a chance for him to get out of the "office" and do something different. ? LOL

Hey. I wanted to tell you, and anyone else here with a tractor, I've been a member over at TractorByNet.com for a while. Just recently started spending some more time there. Lot of knowledgeable people and good guys over there. General forums and brand specific forums so you can talk with other guys who just own, say Mahindras too. But some tractor experience/stuff applies to all. I'm going to start hanging over there a little more to learn more about Mahindras and tractors in general. I have already asked questions and received some good information about my new one. You may want to start doing some reading over there as well. Free to join. Just like here.

If you, or anyone starts new over there, let me know. I'm still discovering things about that site that are a little different than here. As far as getting around the site, following threads, etc. And, they have an APP for the phone. Cool!

On our setup for the backhoe we have two hydraulic lines from the tractor to the backhoe, once you take the backhoe off, make sure the two lines coming off the tractor are put/hooked together or you won't have chit for power with the tractor.

If and when you take the backhoe off have some 4x4's handy so you can support the backhoe, I'll have some pic's of how they recommended we do it tomorrow.

On our tractor we had a small antifreeze leak which was coming from a line going to the top of the EGR cooler from the radiator, it needed to be snugged up pretty good, we haven't had a problem with it since.

It was such a small leak that the antifreeze level was still good.

Yup. Went through this many times with the Kubota L35. It was a sweet system. On and off quick. I am nervous about switching to Mahindra. I know the Kubotas are good machines. But I will find out soon enough. And make the best of it.

I noticed on the new Mahindras you don't have to take the three point hitch equipment off to put the backhoe on. That is nice. At least that is how the one that I tried out at The Woodchop Shop in Canton was. I think that was a 2555 with a cab. That was the only one they had a backhoe on.

So can you leave your three point arms and top link on the tractor when you put the backhoe on?

Oh. I just remembered. One set of rear remotes comes standard on the 3550 I ordered. So I think the backhoe just runs off of those. When you disconnect the backhoe you just unplug them from there. I think. Then you have nothing to hook together like I did on my L35 or you do on yours. Already all sealed/connected. I think.

On our 4540 the three point hitch does need to come off before U put the backhoe on, I'm not sure on the 3550.

Backhoes usually need a dedicated set of remotes with a constant flow. (Usually called a Power Beyond kit.) Running them off a valved set of remotes like you would use to run a remote cylinder can cause excess heat to build up in the system.

That makes sense. Both the tractors with removable hoes I've owned had dedicated lines to them. Both Botas, L3710 with woods backhoe and the L35. Then you hooked those lines together when you took the hoe off. Learn something new everyday.

I started up the tractor today so I could get the slush off the driveway, lots of slush was taken off so I decided that I would do the neighbor's driveway too. If we get more snow tonight the job of clearing the driveways will be much easier tomorrow.

John is expecting my tractor in the middle of next week. They didn't go get the backhoe this past week. Had some of their trucks in to the shop for repairs.:picard:So they are going to get the backhoe at the beginning of this week. The third function valve has been ordered but hasn't come in yet. They are expecting that soon. :hair: Looks like I'll be lucky if I have it by the end of next week.

That's it. I'm coming up to borrow the 4540!
