We finally finished the driveway, we decided to finish an area that wasn't that bad. I did back drag it again but I'll have the boss check it so I can smooth out any bumps or add some crusher run if needed. If we still have crusher run left (after doing the above) I'll end up making the bottom section of the driveway better. Gasifier or everyone else that owns a tractor with a front end loader, how often do you grease it? I grease it before I start another days work, is that going over board?
I'll read the maintenance chart again, but I'm pretty sure it was every 50 hours on the Mahindra. The town workers here grease everyday, but they are running the machines daily.
I normally grease mine after every 3-4 uses depending on how much I use the bucket. Make sure to keep your radiator screen clean, mine gets a lot of crud on it especially if I am brush hogging tall weeds. This is the first tractor I have had with a loader bucket, they are slicker then handles on a milk jug. I just keep finding more things to use it for. Gary
Yes, that is going overboard unless you use it a whole lot more than I think you would. Yes, by all means read the maintenance manuals. 50 hours does seem like way too long to wait. I would not be surprised if they recommend 15 though.
The tractor yes, the grease fitting on the bucket should be 10 hours of bucket use.. if mine are not done every 15 I get water in there that's bad...
The good news is that you can't really hurt a front loader with grease. And the fact that you grease it at all has you ahead of a whole bunch of tractor owners. Every 10 hours or so of actual working time should be plenty. Look for grease the contains molybdenum disulfide. (Moly).
This pile of dead Hemlock branches had been in this area longer then we wanted so we used the bucket and filled up the trailer, we'll haul this to the town wood dump. I think the trailer was full after 4 or 5 bucket loads. The trailer is full so we still have another two loads left that we'll get next week.
Before we started filling the trailer with branched and the junk wood, I hauled out a load of Hemlock for next year in the fall. Once the pole beans are done and we take down everything, I'll stack this in that area.
The trail by the Brook is much safer than the trails around the house which are all ice from running on them with the rhino I'm greasing the loader every 10 hours or so. We've been thinking about some pallet forks for the Mahindra so I can lift the logs up onto something and then mill, it will be easier on the back. We also are thinking about a chipper for the PTO but I would need to sell the smaller chipper, a big saw and maybe some firewood to cover some of the cost, we'll see.
Pallet forks are the bomb! Once I had them I never wanted to be without them again. Several times I had to borrow my neighbor's clamp on forks to use with the 210C. Oh, thanks again for reminding me about them. I had not even made sure I had a pair in the deal with my tractor. Done now.
How did the clamp ons work out? I would think that they would put the load out farther than the ssqa type. Gary
We were looking at the quick disconnect (skid steer attachment) not the clamp on, our neighbor had some and she liked them.
