It's always nice seeing the fawns early on and then again in the winter, they look good but we'll see how much more snow we get the rest of the winter and how hard it will be on them..

They're still eating some red maple that came down.

I have spots in the lawn where they have been pawing down thru the snow to get to the grass. So far this has been a mild winter so I think they will survive just fine.

I have some smaller and diseased maple that I might fell for the deer to chow on, one has some mushrooms growing on it and the others will never be strong trees.

I had been pushing snow from the top of our driveway just in front of a white pine at the corner of our driveway, I moved that which gives us more room for snow for the rest of the winter. I did the same in an area I was pushing snow from the road in.

Picture 1486 is the first area I moved snow from, 1487 is the second area I moved snow from, 1488 is a new area I cleaned out in the fall for snow from the driveway, we'll have plenty of room if mother nature keeps up with the snow, 1489 is a after picture of 1486, 1490 is a after picture of 1487 and the last two are a kill from a fox.

We have two storm systems coming in, one starts tomorrow night and the next system starts either on Thursday or Friday. I cut back the banks on one side of the driveway by 3 or 4 or feet, that should make us ready for the next two storms.

I also plowed out what I call the natural drain so when the melt and the rain starts, it will be ready. I'm sure that this will be plowed out again but getting the snow out of there will help big time, especially if we get dumped on.

I also plowed out the low side of the garage and then roof raked it some.

It has been an old fashion type winter snow wise, I'm glad that I cleaned up more areas for snow storage.

I use the 4540 today so I could lift the snow that I plowed to the top of the banks.

I removed some snow on the northeast of our house, with the sun getting stronger and March around the corner, it would just melt and follow the natural drain down into the woods.

I pushed the snow deep into the woods on the northside of the house, if it melts and then freezes it doesn't matter.

The first two pictures are before and the last two are after.

I used the 4540 today, I plowed out the end of my neighbor's driveway and moved a snowbank that was getting high at the end of our driveway, it was hard to see a vehicle coming on that side when I went out the driveway yesterday.

We had planned on putting in some cherry an mix that with some of the better stuff we have but while I was plowing, some pines were losing their branches so we'll wait another day.

Snowplow made 4 passes here today...pushing the snowbanks back.

You two must be on the same schedule!

After doing some roof raking along the edge of our roof, I used the Mahindra 4540 to push back some snow left by the RTV and pushed back more snowbanks.

1536 is a before pic and 1538 is after, the rest are the banks I pushed back and one deer.

I didn't grab the camera but since the sun has been strong the area that has a natural drain which goes from the eastside and runs into the woods on the northside was slushed up good so I plowed out that area and some snow in the area where the pallet forks and bucket are.

I started doing this about three weeks ago so it's pretty much ready for any rain we get or any new snow. I'll still keep the slush cleaned out of that area.

yooperdave , I just went for a walk and the sky is clear with what looks like a full moon, maybe tonight will be the colder night.

Will go with some sugar maple, beech if it's there and some rounds of ironwood for the overnight fire.

Once we're done burning what's left of the pellets in the basement, that will be a total of 50 bags and we'll call it a year on the pellet stove.

We still have 100 bags left at the place we buy them at, we'll purchase another 50 bags this spring. The three year plan on pellet inventory, Backwoods Savage would be proud.

I pushed more water and slush out of the natural drain area later this afternoon. We had a combo of snow and sleet this morning with it turning over to rain.

The driveway is pretty much all ice so after clearing the natural drain area, I took the tractor with the trailer and moved a metal garbage can full of ashes from the woods to just off the driveway halfway down.

After doing the above, I grabbed a small metal garbage can with some pellet ash in it and did the driveway except for near the top where I put some sand on it. I'm saving the tube sand for the 3 point sander on the tractor for when the temp really warms up, I'll use ashes until then.

We're in for another warm day tomorrow so I pulled some snow away from some wood we planned on burning this year, we'll be putting in a few smaller loads tomorrow.

Picture 1542 is some of the slush and water I cleared out of the natural drain today, 1543,44 & 45 are some pictures of the snow I pulled away from some wood we might need later in the month of March and 1547 is our skating rink and the last picture is some pellet ash I use on the driveway.

I put down more pellet ash on the driveway and once that was gone, I started using the ash with some coals from the wood stove on the main part of the driveway and the lower part, all is good traction wise.

I pulled more snow away from the wood we'll be bringing in next and removed more water and slush from the natural drain on the low side of our house.

It looks like Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning might be a nice time to stay by the fire.

An arctic boundary will produce scattered snow showers on Monday
afternoon into Monday night, along with rapidly falling temperatures
on blustery northwest winds. Localized wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph
are possible on Monday Night into Tuesday morning. These brisk winds
and falling temperatures will create wind chill values between 15 and
30 below zero on Tuesday morning.
