We had some thunder with a hard rain, it was a really nice day until I loaded up the utility trailer with pine branches.
With the branches I loaded up last night, we took a total of four to the wood dump today. Since the branches were under a bunch of pines, I was out of the sun when loading but at the wood dump we were in full sun, the A/C in the truck was a blessing. Our goal is to have all the branches in that area gone by the end of July, the wife was a big help today. I think tomorrow morning I'll do another oil change (did one before spring) on the ole MTD 20 ton and then find some shade and split some wood. Have a happy 4th of July and stay safe. We were coming back from the wood dump when we saw the ambulances coming from a distance behind us so we pulled over, there must be an accident south of here.
thewoodlands .. I'm just curious as to why you bring your Pine boughs to the dump. Here we just drag them to the swamp and set them on fire.. A few boy a few beers and a bon fire!! A 30 foot circle and 20 foot high is average
Our town is in what New York State considers a fire town because part of this little town is in the Adirondack Park, the town said they don't enforce it but the DEC is giving out some nice size fines ($500.00) I saw in the paper but I'm not sure if they were burning garbage or branches. I bet if I burned down some of the Adirondacks that my arse would be in deep chit. You can actually burn in the outdoor fireplace if the flame isn't over three feet according to the DEC but they've been going around looking for smoke and then come see ya. We were going to rent a bigger chipper but the engine went up on it, the owner didn't think he would be putting a new one on it.
Makes sense.. Here if I tell fire chief. I get a permit.. When I bought land in foreclosure a decade of brush built up.. Called him everyday.. He stopped by said he appreciated it by gave me a burn pass. Saw hoses and set ups, said I was safe..
Lots of pine and pine needles on our house lot where the branches are and not one good open spot to burn. The bad accident is just south of us by two miles, I heard it was a log truck and a car. They were bringing a helicopter in and were stopping any traffic from going on that state route.
The accident in my post 747 was caused by the lady driving the SUV (she crossed over the line) not the tractor trailer according to the police.
I did one load of pine branches but you could hear thunder off to the north so I dropped the trailer when I got home and then put the tractor away, that's when mother nature turned the water on. It's 79 degrees out with the humidity at 82% and the dewpoint at 73%.
