Yes, started hole #8 of 12 and hit a good sized rock. The 3pt post hole digger will get a break until I get that thing out.
Those chips look great to keep the trail dry. Hope to have a chipper someday. Should call around to the tree services and see if they want to be rid of some.
I didn't chip these, a company is clearing underneath the powerlines so I scored two loads, hopefully we can get another 2 or 3.
Tomorrow I'll use the 4540 with the forks to load some pine branches on the utility trailer and then take them to the wood dump, hopefully it's only one load.
We hit 80 again today but the clouds moved in so it wasn't that bad. I took two loads (one pictured) to the wood dump in the utility trailer After I came back from the wood dump, I put five gallons of diesel in the 4540 and took three loads of chips to the trail I've been working on. I also moved a nice size pine log out of the area we felled it, hopefully by the end of the day Friday, that area will be ready for me to stack the ash. Picture 9303 are some of the pine branches for the first load and 9304 is the trailer loaded up before we strapped everything down for the run to the wood dump.
Yes it was but the two rides to the wood dump allowed me some max A/C in the truck and before I took three loads of chips back in we had some soft ice cream from a local store.
I did 1 footer in the rain yesterday evening. 6 done, 6 to go. Hoping for Saturday afternoon to be done, but that's a long shot with the rain. How much rain you get today so far?
Last year we had planned on taking some of the pine branches to the wood dump but it was full, I called a place that rents out a bigger chipper but the old motor went and they don't think they'll replace it. I put the pallet forks on the the 4540 and loaded up the utility trailer three times with pine branches and took them to the wood dump, I'll increase our load count up to four which should have the job done by the end of July. I didn't charge the batteries for the camera so no pics.
If you know some one who has a old set of grader chains i bet you could cut them down and use those, you might have to add a few new cross bars, but, grader chains are good chains. Put some bungee cords on them to keep them good and tight and you've got a tank!!
that sander works good, might as well get another set of the angle brackets that throw the sand, they do wear out, at the worst time. We had the same set up on our sanders, they get thin and sharp, full of holes and then they stop doing a good job. And of course they'll stop working at the worst time, when you really need them.
They sure come in handy for all different types of moving, I have a small chipper but that would be a whole bunch of work for it. We would've started moving them last year but the wood dump was full, our town hired a company to chip everything which they did this spring.
I decided that I would load the utility trailer up with some branches after supper with the 4540 with the pallet forks, I did get it loaded but mother nature turned on the water right after my first load, she soaked me good. I'm hoping that we can haul four loads tomorrow but we'll see.
