You do have to remove the springs an install some bolts when you use it for a dozer blade. The springs allow the blade to flop down when plowing but the bolts won't.? I'll get a quick go through on the info on what I need to do when I use it for a dozer blade when they come.

I went into the garage around 3 p.m. today when I heard a vehicle coming up the driveway, the 4540 was back home with the dozer blade/snowplow. I just came in from plowing with it, it was well worth the wait. The third function is on the side of the tractor under the hydraulic controls for the bucket and snowplow.(there's another hydraulic bracket hookup up front) There are two buttons you push to angle the plow left or right that are on your hydraulic controls.(joy stick)

I'll see what I can do for pictures tomorrow with my phone before I plow a few more areas, it made pushing back the banks much easier.

I think it's a 7 footer, they make bigger but this is perfect for our needs. Time for my workout, I'll be back in 30.

I spent some of the day widening the driveway even more, I also pushed a bunch of snow out from the low side of our house where we put in wood and then cleared the natural drainage that runs from the east side to the north. With all the warmer weather coming in this was the day to do it.

I'm not sure how some of the other third function kits are but the one on our 4540 allows you to curl the plow up or down like you were curling up the bucket or dumping from the bucket.

Gasifier , I'll have some pictures of the third function kit and the plow for Sunday. Our neighbor is sick and he heats with wood so I'm heading down tomorrow so I can push some wood in for him and then when I get back we'll do the same for us. You have plenty of nice attachments/implements but pushing snow with the tractor and the plow is so much easier.

I may have missed it but did you tear something up or hire larger equipment to push back the snow piles?

DNH hired larger equipment as plow banks were over 6 feet high and frozen in.. got too narrow for car.. til he got here hand shoveled 9pening off road.. parked at road and used snowmobile to transport back and forth..

Gasifier , Canadian border VT , the plow is a seven footer and 24 inches high, I think that I'll be looking for a snow deflector to put on the top of the plow for next winter.

Gooder that it's wider than your tractor. You can angle it to just the right angle so you still cover the width of the outside of your rear tires.

:picard:Now your spoiled. I told you it would be worth the wait.:D

AND worth the bill you HAD to pay!:emptywallet::makeitrain"

I had a friend call me about stopping by after they (him and his wife) got done cross country skiing, I told him sure but that I was in Potsdam getting some diesel with some other things. They stopped by and we shot the chit for a long time so I didn't get the icture of the third function kit or plow but I will get it tomorrow after we put in wood in the morning.

My friend has a camp so I ask him if he burned any wood outside, sure do so I promised him a load of dead pine or more when he needs it.

This guy was and still is my best friend so it was very nice to see them for more then 10 minutes when I stop by his office.

Here's the third function kit with the plow on the 4540. The first picture is the joystick with your angle controls for the plow (red buttons), the third picture is the third function kit on the side of the tractor, the six picture is the curl function , the seven picture is the dump function with the plow (it will go further) .

Those steps on there are for when the snow gets real deep, you stand on them with shovel in hand when your wife is driving the tractor. Please share a pic of that. :D
